Discover Your Learning Ability at Landmark College

Landmark College is a fully accredited, not-for-profit liberal arts college in Putney, Vermont, devoted exclusively to students who learn differently, including students with a learning disability (such as dyslexia), ADHD, autism or executive function challenges. We champion a strengths-based model and give students the skills and strategies they need to achieve their goals.

Fully integrated within the College, Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (LCIRT) is instrumental in promoting and leveraging the knowledge and expertise of Landmark College’s faculty and staff. The Neurocognitive Lab, which includes virtual reality (VR) equipment, makes LCIRT a popular environment for student research.

Academic Programs

Both the associate and bachelor’s in Computer Science programs at Landmark College provide the foundational skills for careers in game design and development, including animation, 3-D modeling, game design and programming. Students pursuing the bachelor’s program complete a Capstone Project of their choosing, providing them with the opportunity to integrate the knowledge they have gained from across the curriculum. Students are encouraged to work in teams and can pursue either an applied or theory project.

Other careers beyond gaming that our computer science program prepares students for include cybersecurity, mobile app development, software design, geographic information systems and hardware engineering.

Students pursuing an associate degree in another area of study may elect to pursue an academic concentration in Computer Science.

Internship Opportunities

In addition to our degree programs, some internships within the Landmark College Institute for Research & Training (LCIRT) offer opportunities to work on projects that explore the role of video games in educating students who learn differently. Many of these are in collaboration with organizations looking to bring products to market, providing students with invaluable real-world experience.
